Reserve a Picnic Area

Picnics in Western Springs are the best! With twelve beautiful parks, there is availability to hold a fun event outdoors every month of the year! We currently have six parks with pavilions - Laidlaw, Ridge Acres, Ridgewood, Spring Rock, Springdale and Timber Trails. You can also rent general park areas without pavilions at any of our 13 parks! Park Use permits are required for groups of 25 or more people for all activities, including picnics, family gatherings and sporting events.

Reservations can be made online or you can download and fill out the 2026 Park Use Application. Email application to Barb at bkartzmark@wsprings.com.

** All reservation requests will require approval by the Park District before becoming final ** After approval, an invoice and separate approval email will be sent! **

SECURITY DEPOSIT (Separate payment is required for Security Deposit)

(Up to 100 people $200) and (101+ people $500)

Note: The security deposit will be returned in full upon inspection of the grounds if no damages have been incurred to Western Springs Park District property (hereafter collectively referred to as “the Park District”). If damages have occurred, the security deposit will be returned less any costs to repair damages incurred to the facilities, fields and grounds during set-up, take-down and during the picnic itself. In the event that damages exceed the security deposit, the organization agrees to reimburse the Park District for any outstanding costs.

A $400.00 charge will be added to the permit fee for staff assistance for all picnics over 200 people. This is for a staff member to be on site assisting with garbage and park maintenance needs during your picnic.
