Board of Commissioners

The Western Springs Park District is governed by seven elected residents of Western Springs who volunteer their services to the community. The Park District Board of Commissioners meets once a month to conduct the business of the district.

Residents are invited to attend Board meetings and are encouraged to make suggestions or comments to improve Park District facilities.

 Brian Perkovich - President - Term expires 2029

Park Focus - Spring Rock Park

Brian and his family have been residents of Western Springs since 2019, moving from LaGrange after 15 years of living in the Western Suburbs. Originally from Oak Lawn, IL, Brian attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering and later attended DePaul University where he graduated with an MBA, concentrating in Finance. He recently retired as the Executive Director of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago and can often be found walking his dog around the many beautiful parks in Western Springs.

 Beth Ryan - Vice President - Term expires 2029

Park Focus - Springdale

Beth has lived in the Springdale neighborhood of Western Springs since 2014 with her husband, Steve, and their three young daughters. Their girls have always loved visiting the parks of Western Springs and have logged many hours on the swings. Beth has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Public Relations from Marquette University. Beth and her husband own a digital marketing agency with headquarters in the western suburbs of Chicago. Focusing on websites, blogs, social media, paid advertising, and more, they have enjoyed helping businesses of all size grow their online presence.

 Martin Lagler - Treasurer - Term expires 2027

Park Focus - Veterans, Laidlaw & Sereda Parks

Martin and his family have been residents of Western Springs since 2015. Martin along with his wife Diana, children Anna, Paul, Marc and Scott reside in Old Town North. Martin graduated with a degree in Accounting from Western Governor's University and has a degree in Hospitality Management from Zurich, Switzerland.  Over 20 years ago, Martin started his career as a Housekeeping Intern at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago, joined the accounting team right after and is in that field ever since working for wholesale, import and technology firms. He is now the Controller for ServerCentral Turing Group, a Chicago based data center and cloud management company. mlagler@wsprings.com

 LeAnn Kilarski - Commissioner - Term Ends 2027

Park Focus - Clark and Ridge Acres

LeAnn Kilarski has lived in the Ridge Acres neighborhood of Western Springs for 14 years.  She is a graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in accounting. LeAnn is a CPA and spent 22 years working at a large Chicago based private equity firm as its Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer. LeAnn left that position in 2022 to be able to spend more time with her two daughters and also started her own CFO consulting business. She is looking forward to working with the community to continue to improve our beautiful Western Springs parks. lkilarski@wsprings.com

 Doug Stoltz - Commissioner - Term expires 2027

Park Focus - Ridgewood & Timber Trails

Doug and his wife, Lauren, have lived in the Ridgewood neighborhood of Western Springs for five years.  They have three young daughters.  Both Doug and Lauren grew up in the surrounding area and were excited to return home to family and friends after years of living in Connecticut.  After graduating from the University of Illinois with a degree in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, Doug worked in flight safety for Pratt & Whitney, an aircraft engine manufacturer, for 13 years.  While working in Connecticut, he earned his MBA from Carnegie Mellon University.  After moving to Western Springs, Doug accepted a job with United Airlines and works as a manager in Central Finance. Doug is a coach for two of his daughters' soccer teams and is an avid biker.  He also enjoys traveling and hiking. dstoltz@wsprings.com
