Board of Commissioners

The Western Springs Park District is governed by seven elected residents of Western Springs who volunteer their services to the community. The Park District Board of Commissioners meets once a month to conduct the business of the district.

Residents are invited to attend Board meetings and are encouraged to make suggestions or comments to improve Park District facilities.

Brian Perkovich - President - Term expires 2029

Park Focus - Spring Rock Park

Brian and his family have been residents of Western Springs since 2019, moving from LaGrange after 15 years of living in the Western Suburbs. Originally from Oak Lawn, IL, Brian attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering and later attended DePaul University where he graduated with an MBA, concentrating in Finance. He recently retired as the Executive Director of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago and can often be found walking his dog around the many beautiful parks in Western Springs. bperkovich@wsprings.com

Beth Ryan - Vice President - Term expires 2029

Park Focus - Springdale

Beth has lived in the Springdale neighborhood of Western Springs since 2014 with her husband, Steve, and their three young daughters. Their girls have always loved visiting the parks of Western Springs and have logged many hours on the swings. Beth has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Public Relations from Marquette University. Beth and her husband own a digital marketing agency with headquarters in the western suburbs of Chicago. Focusing on websites, blogs, social media, paid advertising, and more, they have enjoyed helping businesses of all size grow their online presence. bryan@wsprings.com

LeAnn Kilarski - Treasurer - Term Ends 2027

Park Focus - Clark and Ridge Acres

LeAnn Kilarski has lived in the Ridge Acres neighborhood of Western Springs since 2010. She is a graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in accounting. LeAnn is a CPA and has worked in private equity since 2000 in roles including Chief Financial Officer, Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Operating Officer. She is looking forward to working with the community to continue to improve our beautiful Western Springs parks. lkilarski@wsprings.com

Lara Delheimer - Commissioner - Term Ends 2029

Park Focus - Field Park

Nearly 12 years ago, our family of four set out on a drive to finalize our house-hunting decision. We stopped at a park in Western Springs so our then three-year-old daughters could play, hoping to talk through the pros and cons of the surrounding communities. But honestly, it didn’t take long—one look at each other, and we both knew this was where we wanted to raise our children. With excellent schools, convenient access to the train, and walkable spaces like the library, downtown restaurants pool and beautiful parks, we knew instantly our decision was made. For several years I devoted my time as a stay-at-home mom, volunteering in the community while raising our two amazing daughters. When they reached second grade, I made the decision to return to the workforce as a middle school paraprofessional. Inspired to grow further, I went back to school to pursue a Master of Arts in Teaching & Learning—and I’m proud to have graduated in 2026.

I’m incredibly proud to have been elected as a commissioner for the Western Springs Park District. I strongly believe that a community is defined by the people who shape it, and that beautiful, active parks and engaging events bring us all together. I’m committed to helping make our parks welcoming and inclusive spaces for everyone—including our pets!

JL Drew - Commissioner - Term Ends 2027

Park Focus - Park Focus - Veterans, Laidlaw & Sereda Parks

JL Drew has lived in Field Park neighborhood of Western Springs with his wife and two children and enjoys spending time as a family at local parks and community events. JL is a Certified Public Accountant and earned his Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University's J.L. Kellogg School of Management, where he concentrated in Strategy and Management and Finance. JL is passionate about community involvement and has served on the board of AYSO. In his free time, he enjoys cheering on his kids in soccer, gymnastics, and figure skating. He looks forward to contributing his professional experience in service to the Western Springs Park District.

Dan Sennett - Commissioner - Term Ends 2029

Park Focus - Forest Hills

Dan Sennett serves as a Commissioner for the Western Springs Park District. As the President of an information technology company, he brings strong leadership and a strategic, solutions-oriented perspective to the Board, particularly in areas involving systems, data, and long-term planning.

A proud resident of Western Springs, Dan is raising his family in the community and values the important role that parks and recreational spaces play in enhancing quality of life. Doug Stoltz - Commissioner - Term expires 2027

Park Focus - Ridgewood & Timber Trails

Doug and his wife, Lauren, have lived in the Ridgewood neighborhood of Western Springs for five years. They have three young daughters. Both Doug and Lauren grew up in the surrounding area and were excited to return home to family and friends after years of living in Connecticut. After graduating from the University of Illinois with a degree in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, Doug worked in flight safety for Pratt & Whitney, an aircraft engine manufacturer, for 13 years. While working in Connecticut, he earned his MBA from Carnegie Mellon University. After moving to Western Springs, Doug accepted a job with United Airlines and works as a manager in Central Finance. Doug is a coach for two of his daughters' soccer teams and is an avid biker. He also enjoys traveling and hiking. dstoltz@wsprings.com
