Please read all of the following before applying for your permit:

In accordace with park rules, beginning Jauary 1st of the year for the picnic event Village residents may apply for picnic permits while Village based churches/service organizations may apply for one free permit each year beginning January 1st of the year the picnic event will take place. Non-residents may apply beginning April 1st of the year for the picnic event. Village churches and charitable organizations will be entitled to one permit free of charge per year. If the area you selected is already reserved then you will be contacted and offered either another area or a different date. Due to the extensive use of parks groups with 30 people or over must apply for a permit. Therefore, if you do not have over 30 people you do not need a permit.

The following are the fees for a permit. If your online application is accepted then you will receive a letter in the mail confirming your request along with a bill for your permit.

Resident family, non-profit organization or business (30-75 people)..........$30.00
Resident family (over 75 people)..........$60.00
Non-resident family, non-profit organization or business (30-75 people)..........$60.00
Non-resident family, non-profit organization or business (over 75 people)..........$120.00

No specific equipment such as dunk tanks, tarps, tents, or motorize vehicles (except for handicapped) will be permitted. Grounds will be monitrored by Park District employees. Unless request is made in advance on the picnic permit, moving picnic tables is prohibited.

In the event the Board might not grant your request, we encourage you to consider contacting the Cook County Forest Preserve (800-870-3666) and/or other park districts in the area, some of which are better suited to accommodate large picnics.

Rules:

The Park District cannot guarantee availability of barbecue grills and/or picnic tables. All refuse must be bagged and placed next to trash containers. Additional charges may be billed in the event a park is left littered. No electrical outlets are to be used by any picnic group, nor are dogs allowed in the park. ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED AND VIOLATORS WILL BE SUBJECT TO ARREST.
